Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA)

Strengthening School–Family Partnerships

At The Village School, we believe that children achieve their very best when schools and families work together. That is why we are proud to be working towards the Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA) — a nationally recognised accreditation celebrating outstanding parental engagement in schools.

The LPPA helps us build even stronger relationships with parents and carers, ensuring that your voice, involvement and partnership remain central to our school community.

What Is the LPPA?

The Leading Parent Partnership Award is a structured framework that supports schools in developing high-quality, meaningful engagement with parents. It focuses on strengthening communication, improving participation and creating opportunities for parents to play an active role in their child’s learning.

By working towards this award, we are:

  • Celebrating the strengths of our current parent partnerships
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Committing to ongoing, community-informed development
  • Ensuring our provision is inclusive, accessible and welcoming for all families

Why It Matters

Research shows that strong home–school relationships have a significant positive impact on:

  • Children’s progress and attainment
  • Confidence, well-being and behaviour
  • Attendance and punctuality
  • Long‑term learning habits and independence

We want every family to feel connected, informed and empowered to be part of their child’s journey.

Our LPPA Priorities

As part of the LPPA process, we are strengthening our approach across nine key areas, including:

  • Ensuring the school is welcoming and approachable
  • Providing clear, accessible communication for all families
  • Offering a wide range of parent/child learning workshops and events
  • Supporting parents during induction and transitions
  • Creating opportunities for parents to share their views and shape school development
  • Celebrating parental involvement and success

How Parents Can Get Involved

Your involvement is vital to our success. Throughout the year we will be offering:

Workshops & Learning Events

Hands‑on activities that help you support learning at home and understand what your child experiences in school.

Parent Focus Groups & Surveys

Opportunities to share your ideas, feedback and experiences.

Family Celebrations & Community Events

Moments to come together as a school community, celebrating strengths and successes.

Volunteering & Project Groups

Parents and carers who want to become more involved in specific aspects of school life are always welcome.

What’s Happening Now

We are currently completing our LPPA self‑evaluation and developing our action plan. This work builds on our existing strengths, including the growing focus on community engagement which is noted in our School Development Plan and marks ongoing progress towards LPPA and highlights parent partnership as an important strategic priority.

We will continue sharing updates, celebrating successes and inviting parent participation as we progress.

We Want to Hear From You

Your views matter. If you have suggestions, ideas or questions about the LPPA or parent engagement more generally, please get in touch with us. Together, we can continue building a school community where every child and family feels fully supported.
